Joined the Cheongnyongsa Temple Anseong Namsadang troupe in Seoun-myeon, Anseong (at the age of 5).
She mastered Seonsori chanting, tightroping, the hat-spinning Pungmul, the shoulder-riding Mudong, the Saemi performance, and other Namsadang performance arts.

Promoted to become the lead performer of Anseong Namsadang (at the age of 15), and became the first and final female lead performer of Namsadang(Baudeogi replaced the then lead performer Yun Chi-deok who had died)

At the 2nd year of King Gojong's reign, when Gyeongbokgung Palace was reconstructed, Baudeogi led the Anseong Namsadangpae performance.
She received the jade hat, which is equivalent to class 3 official status, the top honor for Namsadangpae performances,and later, she promoted Namsadang to the country's top spot among the nation's arts troupes.

Namsadangpae was generically called Baudeogi.
In 1870, she toured around the country to perform. She created Korea's entertainment culture, becoming the country’s first entertainer. She was referred to as Namsadang Baudeogi.

Died of tuberculosis (while being looked after by her Namsadang colleagues). Laid to rest in the valley in Cheongnyong-ri, Seoun-myeon, Anseong.
